Reseller Example
Here is an example to aid in understanding
the basic mechanics of the Apollo Hosting Reseller Program:
A new reseller signs up with the "RS-100" reseller plan, on
a monthly basis. This plan allows them to set up a maximum of 10 resold
accounts, all of which will draw from their reseller account's total
allotment of disk space and transfer, 1500MB and 15 GB respectively.
The new reseller's monthly cost is $49.95. The reseller calculates,
based on his monthly plan cost, his basic cost per account, at 10 accounts,
is about $5. In order to recover his monthly fee and make a profit,
he must charge more than $5.
The new reseller designs 2 plans, a $10.00 a month plan and a $20.00
a month plan, based on his available resources. The reseller sells five
$10.00 plans and five $20.00 plans. He has generated $150.00 in revenue
- a net profit of $100.00 (see the table below).
| Plan you create |
Disk Space you allocate per account* |
Bandwidth you allocate per account* |
Amount per month you charge your customer |
# of accounts you’ve resold |
Monthly Revenue |
| Your plan #1 |
300MB |
3GB |
$10 |
5 |
$50 |
| Your plan #2 |
600MB |
6GB |
$20 |

$100 |
*The combined disk space and bandwidth
you allocate to your customers is larger than the plan allotment due to
the resellers ability for over-allocate resources.
Resellers may set the price for their plans to be whatever they feel will
maximize their profit potential, the above prices were simply examples.
A reseller business may have more than simply the cost of the reseller
account as an expense, so it is important to determine your total monthly
cost when deciding how to price your plans.
Resource Over-Allocation
Resellers may allocate more space to their resold hosting plans than
the average customer utilizes. Most customers use less than 100 MB,
thus over-allocation allows the reseller to provide larger plans than
their maximum disk space may otherwise allow. The customer sees the
amount they can use, and they will have the ability to utilize that
amount, but most will not. Our plans offer additional disk space add-ons
to cover any potential overages on the part of your reseller account.
