Setup Manual for Reseller and Dedicated Accounts
These steps will guide you through the process
of setup up your new RS-XXX reseller or Control Series dedicated
account with Apollo Hosting. These steps are not optional and are required
to use your new account as it was intended.
- 1.) You will need to establish name
server entries for your main domain thru your registrar.
a) If you registered yourdomain.com and this
is your intended online reseller presence, you will need to set
up both ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com
with your registrar as "registered" or "virtual"
name servers.
b) You will need to select 2 of the ip addresses
provided with your account to be associated with these name servers.
The ip addresses can be used for client accounts as well; they
are not "used up" by this process. You will have to
remember which ip addresses goes with ns1 and which with ns2
later in this document.
c) While at your registrar, also set the name
servers to be used with your domain to ns1.yourdomain.com
and ns2.yourdomain.com. Do not use ns1.apolloservers.com
and ns2.apolloservers.com on any of your domains on your account!
d) The final steps are dependant on your individual
domain registrar. There are a few video tutorials for common registrars
at the bottom of this page. If your domain registrar is not represented
below, contact them for specific instructions.
- 2.) You will need to set up your DNS
record for your domain in Plesk.
a) Log into your plesk control panel using the
admin/setup information and complete the initial configuration.
b) Create a client for yourself as well as add
your domain from above into plesk.
c) Navigate to your domain and click the DNS
button; you will see the current record for your domain.
d) Click the check box for both the following
lines and choose "Remove Selected". They may not be
adjacent. Confirm the deletion.

type of "NS" and click "Add". Leave the "domain
name" field blank. Under name server put ns1.yourdomain.com.
Repeat this step for ns2.yourdomain.com.
f) Under "Add a DNS record" choose type
of "A" and click "Add". Type ns1 in the "domain
name" field and put the IP address you chose for ns1 in the
ip address field. Repeat this step for ns2.
- 3.) You will need to set up your DNS
template for your client domains in Plesk.
a) Navigate in plesk to the "Server"
information page and click the DNS button. This will look very
similar to the previous steps.
b) Click the check box for both the following
lines and choose "Remove Selected". They may not be
adjacent. Confirm the deletion.

c) Under "Add a DNS record" choose
type of "NS" and click "Add". Leave the "domain
name" field blank. Under name server put ns1.yourdomain.com.
Repeat this step for ns2.yourdomain.com.
Having completed these steps, any domains you add to your reseller
account or dedicated server will use the template you set up and work
as expected. When you register client or additional domains, you will
set the name servers at their registrar to ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com.
